Upon completion of tagging you will be emailed a spreadsheet specifying what has been tagged, if the item passed or failed and date of next scheduled test. What makes an environment hostile

Hostile environments are genrally considered to have one or more of the following characteristics:

1. Dusty
2. Damp / Wet
3. Used around chemical storage
4. Any environment that can see premature failure of an electrical appliance. IE extension cords in a warehouse (as forklifts may drive over them)

What is a portable appliance and what is a fixed appliance

1. A portable appliance is easily picked up and transported ie hair dryer
2. A fixed appliance is something not generally moved or designed to be moved. ie a desktop PC is not portable but a laptop is a portable appliance.
3. Fixed appliances regularly moved are considered portable for test and tag. For example a PC that is hired out or subject to regular movement is to be tested and tagged as a portable appliance.
