How to choose an alarm for home

 Bosch Solution 16i kit

Choosing an alarm  shouldnt be hard so we've made it easy for you by giving you a short list of talking points for your home.

Who makes the alarm  panel and what model is it? This will give you an idea of the functionality of the alarm  panel and how user friendly it is. The Bosch 16i for example (shown above) is an icon based keypad with an easy to use interface. The Bosch Solution 16 plus is in English text, which in our opinion is the easiest to use alarm on the market today. The Bosch Ultima panel is a cheaper alternative perfect if you just have a few rooms to protect.

What sensors are being used? Your alarm is as good as your sensors are. If you want to reduce false alarms and have a greater detection rate then Bosch has the solution. Using either Quad Sensors with creep zones or Tri Tech sensors that use infra red and microwave you can achieve a higher level of safety with less false alarms. In essence your alarm  operates on what your sensors tell it. Having cheap sensors can lead to false alarms and may not detect intruders. Read more

How does it look asthetically? You've spent good money making your house a home so why would you put 15 year old technology on your walls and ceilings. Sound odd? Well putting an alarm  system  in can actually complement your house decor rather than look out of place. Bosch makes two different ranges of house sensors that can complement your house.

Do you want wireless remote controls? Most alarm  panels on the market support remote controls. They save time especially when driving into your garage by simply clicking on your remote.

Alarm  Monitoring. Wavelength can monitor your alarm  for $5 a week. If you want your alarm  to call you or someone else to tell them  about an alarm then thats fine too. Wavelength can program  a Bosch alarm  to call out and verbally notify you. Wavelength can even get the new Bosch Solution 16 plus alarm  to call you on from  TPG, BOB and VOIP lines without a dial tone
